WHAT IS RESILIENCY?

 

RESILIENCY is being able to bounce back from adversity.

 

To be an ANTI-FRAGILE & RESILIENT athlete, means that no matter what happens nothing will deter you from doing everything you can to continue to persevere towards your goals.

Whether it be;

  • a disappointment,
  • a failure,
  • an injury
  • or an unprecedented time in history like we are going through now

Critical to overcoming adversity is a RESILIENT mindset

To develop resiliency will need a commitment to the desired goals demonstrated through your unwavering intention to perseverance and determination.

To develop maximum commitment, it is necessary to understand why it’s so important to go through tough times and adversity.

  • What are the goals opportunities and potential benefits of overcoming this current adversity?
  • What am I willing to do to overcome this situation?
  • Why do I want these goals?

These are just a few questions that are very important for you to discover so that you will develop the necessary motivation that is built from inside you to push through the difficulty so that you will succeed no matter what the obstacle or adversity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This course will take you through the steps to learn how to become aware of your thoughts and beliefs so that you can manage and replace negative self-talk and non-useful beliefs that interfere with skill acquisition, performance and the love and enjoyment of your sport!

You will be taught mindset tools with exercises to practice and condition the skills so that they are second nature and will be there for you when you need them most… when you are under pressure or dealing with adversity!

This course is based on the foundational format of the R.A.C.E Formula

R – RELENTLESS to change what isn’t working for you

A – AWARENESS of how you operate

C – CLEAR the interference patterns

E – EMOTIONAL MASTERY – the ability to control and use your emotions

BE RELENTLESS ABOUT BECOMING FEARLESS!!

The purpose of this course is to teach athletes awareness of their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions to gain control over them so that in times of adversity, challenge and disappointment the athlete is able to maintain a strong, undeterred and calm mindset.

In this course, you will learn skills and tools that you will train to become a FEARLESS and RESILIENT athlete.

The R.A.C.E. Formula achieves this by teaching athletes to be able to acknowledge negative self-talk, imagined fears and worst case scenarios and to uncover the non-useful belief systems that interfere with peak performance, productive training and the joy and love of participating in your sport.

Students are taught to analyze those thoughts and reframe them to more helpful and empowering thoughts which can be then be put into productive and powerful action steps to move forward past disappointment, past fear of the unknown and move forward to achieving goals, dreams and to become the champion of their dreams.

Objectives of the training program for Resiliency:  Overcoming Adversity

  • To understand what mental toughness is and why it is necessary for athletes of all sports
  • To create intention & commitment
  • Learn the tools and skills of Mental Toughness to overcome anxiety, fear, disappointment, and adversity
  • To have the skill to be able to face adversity, injury or failure with confidence, determination
  • Develop the “Grit” to persevere through any adverse situation that all competitive athletes come up against.

You will learn tools that will help you manage difficult emotions and negative thoughts, and develop the skills of focus and concentration so that you remain on target and on track towards your goals.

To provide you with the skills and training that you will be able to use in school, career, or any other activity that you pursue.

It takes grit, desire, intention and motivation to make the changes necessary to improve and to become the champion of your dreams, which brings me to R for Relentless.

IN ORDER TO CHANGE YOUR MINDSET YOU NEED TO BE RELENTLESS IN YOUR DESIRE TO MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR MINDSET SO THAT YOU CAN REACH YOUR GOALS!
